Welcome to the first issue of CAMH Bulletin, launched October 2006. It is hoped that CAMH Bulletin will become an important source of high quality articles, primarily aimed at CAMH (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) professionals, parents and young people.

CAMH Bulletin is published by camh.org.uk, the CAMH website for CAMH professionals, young people and parents. It is intended to provide a source of commentary on important events and current affairs relating to CAMH issues internationally, governmental policies and health service provision. Content will also include commentary on advances in medical understanding, book reviews, original research and audit.

The CAMH Bulletin Editorial Office will welcome submissions from anyone, in the form of commentary, reviews, accounts of experiences, research reports and audit reports. CAMH professionals, young people and families affected by CAMH issues, other health care professionals and students are particularly encouraged to contribute, although it is not a requirement to fall into one of the above categories, and submissions are welcomed from anyone interested in CAMH issues. There is no requirement to produce lengthy content, or to adhere to any particular format or terminology.

The launch of CAMH Bulletin is seen as a natural progression for camh.org.uk, and results from our commitment to provide as helpful as possible a source of information to our website visitors, and to foster discussion and knowledge about CAMH disorders and issues. Camh.org.uk has been providing a free information resource since September 2003, making available a single point of reference to professionals and service users alike. The website contains broad information on a range of mental health conditions encountered within a typical CAMH service, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, autism, behavioural problems, bullying, depression, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis and substance abuse. In addition to the provision of this information, the site contains details of relevant links to other websites, including support groups, governmental and non-governmental organisations, downloadable information sheets, book recommendations, and a unique literature search facility, enabling the searching of a range of journals (including the British Medical Journal, the Lancet and the British Journal of Psychiatry) from one convenient page.
